Welcome to Chestnut Lane School

We hope you find much of the information you will need about Chestnut Lane School on this website, whether you are a parent choosing a new school for your child or a parent with children at the school.

Chestnut Lane is an infant school in Amersham which includes a nursery for four year olds, two reception, two year one and two year two classes. Our reception and key stage one classes have 30 pupils in each class while our nursery, which is open in the spring and summer terms, has 26 pupils. In addition the school runs an Afternoon Club for part-time pupils where children can stay until 3pm.

There is a private nursery on site, Woodlands Day Nursery, which takes children from two and a half years old. It opens from 8am - 6pm and runs a breakfast and after-school club.

The motto for our school is 'Learning and Growing Together'. It is a safe, happy environment, with a strong anti-bullying policy. The children receive rich and varied experiences through the curriculum and they develop confidence and self-esteem, as well as enjoying performing in assemblies and productions. There are several extra curricular activities such as French, yoga, dance, football, garden, environment and music clubs.

Chestnut Lane School is set in beautiful grounds where each class has its own patch of garden to tend with early years classes having their own dedicated outdoor play area. There is also an adventure playground with a full range of stimulating activities. We are very proud to have been awarded the Green Flag for becoming an Eco School, a prestigious award recognising our achievements in recycling and caring for the environment.
