Chestnut Lane and Elangeni Schools Association
Welcome to Chestnut Lane & Elangeni PTA (CLESA)
Dear Parents & Guardians,
We wish you a very warm welcome to Chestnut Lane and Elangeni Schools. We have a thriving Parent Teacher Association (PTA), which supports both schools, called the Chestnut Lane and Elangeni Schools' Association - 'CLESA'. All parents become automatic members and any funds raised are shared equally between the two schools.
Each year, CLESA raises thousands of pounds to purchase educational equipment and opportunities that are not covered by government funding. In 'normal times' CLESA would hold lots of fundraising events throughout the year. We try to ensure there is a variety so there are some for adults, some for children as well as family events. These have included the Summer and Christmas Fairs, Fireworks Night, Family Fun Night, Curry & Quiz Night, Children's Disco, 'Tea in a Box' and 'Sausage Sizzle' as well as a family camp out weekend at the end of the school year.
Over the last few years, the money raised by CLESA has provided IT equipment, new reading books, playground equipment, an eco-lodge and science equipment. The children really benefit from these extra resources which greatly enhance their school experience. We also have lots of fun along the way helping to raise funds and contributing to the life and community of both schools. It's also a great way for parents to meet other families and make new friends.
It has been difficult to hold events and raise money over the past year due to the Covid restrictions, but as they begin to ease we are hoping to start up these events again. Your help is vital to making the PTA a success, so please do get involved whether this is by becoming a PTA committee members, volunteering or supporting our fundraising initiatives, for example, through our lottery or gift card scheme or signing up to AmazonSmile or Easyfundraising.
If you would like more information or have any comments or questions, please do get in touch with us at email@example.com. You can also find more information about CLESA on our Facebook page.
