Anxiety

Anxiety is the feeling you get when you're worried about something. We all feel anxious at times, and some anxiety can be helpful, like keeping you safe from danger or a sign you really care about something, like an exam.

But some anxiety can be unhelpful. It might make you feel like things are worse than they actually are. It can feel overwhelming and make it hard for you keep perspective about your situation.  Anxiety in children might display as physical complaints (tummy aches, headaches), behavioural changes (irritability, clinginess, avoidance), sleep issues, difficulty concentrating, and emotional outbursts. Anxiety becomes a problem for children when it starts to get in the way of their everyday life and parents should seek support. Childline
